Hot water extraction for Bend homes. Pulls out the grit and soil a vacuum leaves behind, and gets traffic lanes back.
What extraction actually does
Vacuuming picks up loose surface soil. It doesn’t reach the soil that’s worked its way down to the base of the fiber, and that’s the soil doing the damage.
Those particles are sharp. Every step grinds them against the fiber, cutting it. That’s why traffic lanes go grey and flat while the carpet under your couch still looks new. It’s not staining, it’s mechanical wear.
Extraction injects hot cleaning solution under pressure and immediately vacuums it back out along with the suspended soil. It’s what carpet manufacturers specify, and it’s the difference between carpet lasting eight years and fifteen.
Our process
Pre-inspection and fiber check · pre-vacuum to lift dry soil · pre-spray and agitation so the solution reaches the fiber base · individual spot and stain treatment · hot water extraction · extra passes on traffic lanes · pile grooming and airflow for faster drying
Furniture: we move what’s reasonable and put protective blocks under legs. Anything heavy, fragile, or electronic stays put; tell us in advance and we’ll plan around it.
Pets
The most common reason Bend homeowners call.
Pet accidents soak through carpet into the pad and sometimes the subfloor. Surface cleaning removes the visible stain and leaves the odor, because the odor source is underneath. Treating it properly means treating the pad, and in bad cases the pad has to be replaced. No cleaning fixes a saturated pad.
We’ll tell you which situation you have before we start.
The Bend part
Central Oregon soil is volcanic: fine, light, and sharp. It stays airborne longer than the clay soils most carpet care guidance is written around, and it settles continuously.
Then there’s winter. Bend spreads crushed basalt and ODOT lays down red cinders for traction from about November through the spring sweep, and all of it comes into your house on shoes and paws for months. It’s abrasive, it works straight down into the pile, and it’s the single biggest reason Bend carpets wear in the entry and hallways first.
A doormat outside, a mat inside, and a shoes-off habit does more for your carpet than anything we sell you. Extraction after the spring sweep handles what got through.
How often
Every 12 to 18 months for most homes. Every 6 to 12 months with pets, kids, or heavy traffic. Spring, after the winter grit has stopped coming in, is the best single time of year for it in Bend.
FAQ
How long does it take to dry?
Four to eight hours for foot traffic in socks, and fully dry overnight with airflow. Faster in Bend’s dry air than most places.
Will old stains come out?
Fresh spills usually. Old organic stains, dye stains, and anything already treated with a store-bought product may be permanent, because those products often set the stain. We’ll tell you what to expect before starting.
Is it safe for pets and kids?
Yes. We use products appropriate for homes and everything is extracted back out rather than left in the carpet. Keep everyone off until it’s dry.
Do you move furniture?
What’s reasonable, with protective blocks under the legs. Heavy, fragile, and electronic items stay put.
Can you clean area rugs?
Yes. We clean all types of carpets and rugs, including wool and specialty rugs.
Do you clean upholstery?
Yes. We clean upholstery too, along with carpets and rugs of every type.
